Inventory:
- Magna Blades
- A pair of collapsible swords that he literally keeps up his sleeves that can spring forward with a flick of the wrists, the blades appearing like a set of handles connected to round pieces when folded. Sharp enough to slice through most objects with ease, these are Six's primary weapons. They also can be combined to form a double-bladed staff or a powerful electromagnet. They can also channel electricity though the blades can become overcharged to a point where they can potentially kill their wielder.
- Shuriken
- A special set of shuriken blades which pop out from a circular device similar to the magna blades. The blades are sharp enough to pierce metal but have been shown to be ineffective at times depending upon the opponent.
- Green Suit
- Though Six wears body armor for most of his time in the Providence Splinter Group, he ended up back in the green suit that his older-minded self wore as a part of Providence.
- Sunglasses
- Six keeps his eyes hidden behind a set of dark green sunglasses that he almost never takes off. He will even wear them in underwater gear.
Powers —
Skills:
While Six does possess nanites that could one day transform him into a rampaging EVO, he hasn't transformed yet.
Instead, years of training means he is in peak physical condition, allowing him to handle a lot more than the average human. As one of the Numbers, the most dangerous people on Earth, his level of training allows him to go toe-to-toe with EVOs many, many times his size and even win despite having no powers whatsoever. He can also move shockingly fast, at times seeming to be little more than a blur.
He's an incredibly skilled martial artist, an expert swordsman and acrobat, and skilled with knife-throwing. He favors certain weapons, but only uses guns as blunt weapons, choosing to throw them or swing them into opponents rather than firing them.
He's incredibly stealthy, usually managing to slip up behind people with only the barest hints of sound even when just casually walking around. This can lead to him startling others even unintentionally.
He also has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of things that can kill you even without them having gone EVO.
Superpowers: None. All of his insane skills and abilities are from constant training.
Limitations: For all his skills and abilities that might seem superhuman to the average person, Six is just another human. He's trained his body to peak performance, but he still suffers from the same vulnerabilities of every other human.
Since he is infected with nanites, he does run the risk of "popping" at any moment and transforming into a rampaging EVO. However, I'm willing to have this and potentially infecting others suppressed by the event that dragged him to this new world.
Personality —
- Prior Homelessness and Rescue by the Most Dangerous Man on Earth
- For an unknown period of time, Six was homeless at a young age. However, at some point, he was discovered by One, the most dangerous man on Earth, who decided to take the boy in and train him to be among the deadliest people alive, the Numbers. It left such an impact on Six's life that when arguing for One's life after he became an EVO (see "The Nanite Event and One's Transformation" for details), Six said that One had taken him in when he had nothing, had trained and taken care of him, so Six was determined to take care of One.
As a result, his loyalty to One became absolute, following in the man's footsteps to become a mercenary and ranked among the Numbers. However, he was ranked last among One's pupils, making him "Six" though he wasn't ranked last due to his fighting prowess. It was because despite having (as White Knight once described) "a moral compass in the red zone", Six was the member of the Numbers with the strongest sense of mercy. Something which allowed him to at some point take on a partner in White Knight. - The Nanite Event and One's Transformation
- Five years prior to the present, arguably the greatest manmade disaster in human history took place: The Nanite Event. Within hours, every living thing on Earth was infected with nanites, microscopic machines that could change any living thing from the DNA up without warning. These transformations usually resulted in whatever had transformed completely losing control and going on a rampage in a process that would later be referred to as "going EVO" after the term "EVO" ("Exponentially Variegated Organism") was developed by Dr. Rebecca Holiday four years after the Event.
One went EVO not long after the Nanite Event. Back then the only options were containing or killing the monsters. However, One managed to maintain control of his mind through meditation and pure stubborn will, fighting back against the violent instincts of his new form. The rest of the Numbers, likely convinced by Six, chose to contain One in a special cell hung over the magma chamber of the volcano on One's island home, chaining One up so he couldn't escape. As an added precaution, a system was set in place that if One didn't enter a code every forty-one minutes, the cell would drop into the magma, killing One instantly.
Not content with simply locking up his mentor for the rest of the man's life or until his sanity slipped too far too long, Six left the Numbers and joined up with Providence in hopes of finding a cure he could bring back to One. - Finding Rex and The Bleaching of White Knight
- Four years passed and the war continued with no end in sight, greatly discouraging Six and his hopes of curing One. Dr. Fell -- the head nanite researcher of Providence at the time -- had made no real progress in synthesizing a cure. Six and White Knight were among an army of mercenaries hired to go out and kill the rampaging monsters or capture them to be molecularly dissected by Fell. After White Knight gifted him with a tanto for his birthday, Six told him that he was getting tired of all the fighting. He briefly met Holiday, Fell's assistant at the time, who also expressed interest in finding a cure, her having developed the term "EVO" to refer to the monsters.
That very same day, Six finally found his miracle.
After defeating a giant biomechanical EVO, Six found an amnesiac teenager named "Rex" near where the EVO's fist had crashed. While traveling through the destroyed landscape, communications cut off by the massive EMP burst the EVO had given off when it had exploded, Six and Rex were attacked by another EVO. Six was nearly killed but was saved when Rex managed to reverse the second EVO's transformation, reverting it back to a human. Immediately, Six took Rex back to Providence with him, having the boy demonstrate to Holiday his ability to cure. They intended to smuggle him out the next day to keep him far away from Fell where Holiday could conduct extensive research into Rex's cure ability.
Unfortunately, White Knight had become suspicious of Six's behavior, managing to wrangle the information out of Holiday before locking her up and taking Rex to Fell behind Six's back. Fell immediately began the procedure to disassemble Rex, Six interrupting in desperation to not lose his only chance at curing One. Six and White Knight fought over Rex, Fell's equipment inside the chamber getting damaged in the process and triggering the molecular diassembly cycle. Fell fled, leaving the two mercenaries and Rex behind in the chamber, the scientist having drugged Six to end the fight. While Holiday saved Rex using some of the equipment from outside the chamber, White Knight attempted to carry Six to safety, but their progress was too slow for both of them to make it. Rather than abandoning Six to burn, White Knight used the last few seconds to throw Six out the last exit, sacrificing himself in the process.
Fortunately for White Knight, Rex had fully recovered from his own drugging though he'd partially "rebooted" in the process, leaving him with no memory of how he'd gotten to Providence or how he'd even met Six. He used his ability to talk to machines to shut down the molecular disassembly procedure midway, something that should have been impossible. However, it wasn't without side effects: White Knight's hair, skin, and even his eyes were bleached but, more importantly, he'd been completely stripped of nanites and was left as the only living thing on Earth without them.
As the only person who couldn't suddenly go EVO, White Knight was appointed head of Providence. Fell stepped down, and Holiday became the new head of nanite research. Six became more or less White Knight's second-in-command along with being Rex's partner and trainer. However, Six was also tasked with a very important set of orders: If Rex looked like he'd fully reboot and become the giant biomechanical EVO again, Six was to immediately kill him. Six agreed to these terms, knowing that by training Rex, he was also training the boy to survive what might be a deadly encounter with One for when they went to cure him.
- A Balance of Ruthlessness and Mercy
- As a member of the Numbers, Six has a certain level of ruthlessness that the average human doesn't have. He's able to set aside personal feelings -- his own or others -- if it means getting the job done no matter how unpleasant. A staple in his past profession as a mercenary and when Providence was missing the first "C" of its "CCK" ("Cure, Contain, Kill") standing orders. People who got swept up in the fight could be written off in his head as collateral damage.
However, Six isn't entirely ruthless. The past year training and arguably-raising Rex has bolstered the sense of mercy that led to him being ranked last among the Numbers. He will turn a blade aside or steal the launch key to a nuclear bomb set to blow up a potential EVO threat if he feels that it's going too far. He holds back against humans even if they're being directly-controlled in some way by a threat (such as Peter Meechum's EVO ability to use the nanites in a person's body to force them to obey his will), and he will do what he can to keep civilians out of the line of fire. - Dislike of Harming Children
- Though he will harm and even kill children if the situation calls for it (the standard contract he'd worked under as a mercenary assassin had a clause specifically stating "no witnesses"), Six greatly dislikes it. In fact, after he'd lost six years of his memory and was willing to kill Rex to return to his old life, Trey states that he'd kill Rex for him to "save [him] the therapy". He prefers to keep kids off the frontlines whenever possible.
- Loyalty
- Six's sense of loyalty is so strong that it has nearly gotten him killed on several occasions. He will do what he can for the people he's loyal to, even if it means disobeying orders or tapping into old shady contacts to get the lead he needs to help them.
Six's loyalty to One -- his teacher and father figure -- in particular for saving him from the streets is the catalyst for Rex being brought to Providence and, in the end, curing the world. If nothing else, it proves that the whisper from a butterfly's wings really can create a hurricane.
Loyalty to him can also cause him to rethink his actions such as when he later lost six years of his memory. Despite having the power to escape and potentially overpower Six, Rex trusted in Six enough to believe the man wouldn't run him through with his katana. The fact that Rex didn't even flinch prompted Six to stay his hand and want to "meet this Six you think so highly of". - Self-Sacrifice
- As mentioned in the "Loyalty" section, Six has nearly gotten himself killed on several occasions for the people he cares about. To him, his personal sacrifice is worth it if it means giving the good people he cares about what they need or want most.
Later in his life, Six was willing to take on all four of One's other students solo to buy time for Rex to get One off of the island and to Providence when Rex's initial attempt at a cure failed. Given how willing Dos through Five were to kill One, Six was directly risking his life by opposing them. (Unfortunately, One passed away after Rex's second attempt at a cure.)
Not long after that, Six nearly killed himself with the magna blades when he used them to help boost the machine that cured Beverly Holiday, Holiday's sister who'd been incurable up to that point. His heart and breathing completely stopped due to basically electrocuting himself, Holiday having to revive him via CPR.
Literal death wasn't the only sacrifice on the table either. After losing six years of his memories not long after Beverly was cured, Six was willing to risk total memory loss or coma (or possibly even both) in an attempt to restore the six years of memories he lost to become the Six Rex and the others valued so highly once more. (Sadly, the attempt failed when Rex destroyed the machine when it seemed to be harming Six.)
Six is afraid of losing the people he cares about, of once more being left with nothing. Arguably to the point where he'd be willing to damn the entire world if it meant he could save those people. He might be working with the heroes, but that doesn't mean his moral compass isn't dangerously close to the red zone anymore.
During those five years since One went EVO, Six made compromises that he ordinarily wouldn't have considered. Who knows how many innocent lives -- particularly children -- who had the misfortune of going EVO before Rex appeared that Six personally killed or dragged to Fell for molecular disassembly in the vain hopes that one of them would give Fell a way to ultimately fix One? He likely would've even stolen the cure if one had been developed to bring it to One. After all, he kidnapped Rex with the help of the rest of the Numbers rather than clearing the cure attempt with White Knight or Rex himself.
This is further proven when Rex begins to reboot following an attempt to restore his own memories using an untested machine built by his brother, Dr. Caesar Salazar. White Knight reminds Six of his standing orders to kill Rex before he becomes that giant biomechanical EVO again, something necessary for the good of everyone even if it means losing the only cure they have. However, Six is unable to bring himself to do so, him having lost One for good not long before. Instead, he used the magna blades in their electromagnet configuration to try and stop the machine. It successfully stopped the reboot, but unfortunately the feedback eliminated six years of Six's memory.
Six wants a cure for the EVO Plague more than anything else. He is willing to risk life, limb, and even memory for it. He will compromise on his own ideals if it means there's even a chance to obtain it. With a cure, One could be restored to normal and freed. White Knight could also be freed if there was no more fear of him going EVO if he was re-infected, allowing his partner and arguably best friend to once more enjoy the little things like basic human contact. A cure means he doesn't have to lose anybody else he cares for to machines he can't even see without a microscope much less fight.

Areas of Interest / Brainstorming:
In this strange new world, Six is likely to submit himself to testing as the only-known nanite-infected human. Perhaps a fresh perspective will provide the answer he's been looking for all this time: a cure that will restore even those flagged as "incurable".
As a combat specialist for Providence, he's become a hero in his own right, protecting the weak around him with the skills he'd spent his life developing to take lives. He is even willing to pass on those skills for others to be able to protect themselves and the ones they love.
